	@danielar-sweden has glaciers because they have taller mountains and norway has mountains along with islands in the arctic ocean. finland on the other hand is relatively low-lying and not far north enough to support continental glaciers like the ones on greenland, or canadas northern islands

	it turns out a tiny arm of finland extends into the scandinavian keel ridge where the elevation gets up to 1000 meters. this small area may have have some glaciers, but I cant find any conclusive evidence that it does-guess finland will just have to be left out of the party

	@newenglander: Well deserved pick! You've piqued an old interest and I've been googling in your footsteps. Don't know if you ran across this: http://hol.sagepub.com/content/17/1/79.full.pdf It refers to the area you mention above, specifically the Halti valley, as having had post-ice sheet glaciation, and explicitly states that "this glacier no longer exists." So, good call, no Finland.

	Africa may be glacier less in the near future if Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt ____ (name of country in which it is found) lose theirs. From my research they are the only two glaciated mountains in Africa.

	@jdavey-thanks for filling me in. i should probably re-research glaciers in eastern europe, given my embarrassing exclusion of albania and the presence of some other southern balkan countries. if they can have glaciers with their southern latitudes and coastal orientation, who knows
