Gave up after it didn't accept UK, USA or Australia... think you may have missed some of the more, shall we say, obvious ones!

@DRB: If I understand the goal correctly, this is a quiz about which countries have declared English as an *official* language, not just a predominant language. The three countries you listed do have many English speakers, but have not declared English an official language.

HPZ you are correct. I just added "not de facto" into the question to be more clear.

I just got that from the CIA Factbook. If you have a problem take it up with them.

It's correct that "Irish" is used - my understanding is that Gaelic is more the catch-all term for the dialects of which Irish is one, alongside others like Alba (and Welsh). Surprised that the UK, USA and Australia don't have an "official" language. I believe in the USA it's done on a state-by-state basis?

Ok, Vanuatu also has French and Bislama as official languages. In fact the national anthem is in Bislama. Please correct this. Sudan ONLY speaks Arabic and Philippines only speaks tagalog

Why do I always forget Uganda exists when doing Sporcle quizzes and trying to imagine Africa? They did have one of the most [in]famous dictators of the entire continent.

Roman do you have a source for Sudan? Throughout the internet I find conflicting reports. Thank you for correcting me on the other 2 countries because I was basing it on CIA Factbook.
