| Wow, seven comments and they've all got it wrong. Read the title of the quiz carefully: "Can you name the Asian countries' ADJECTIVES?" Note that it says adjectives and not nouns. Demonyms are nouns not adjectives. This quiz isn't about demonyms and it isn't about nouns; it's about adjectives. Didn't anybody think to check the source? Russia and Turkey are Asian countries according to Sporcle, Cyprus however is not (just take a look at the published Countries of Asia quiz). Where's the evidence that Taiwanese is more common than Taiwan (as an ADJECTIVE), or that Tajik is more common than Tajikistani (as an ADJECTIVE)? Why should the quiz maker change the quiz from being about adjectives to being about nouns (demonyms)? Again, it seems to me I hear about the Taiwan economy and the Singapore judicial system more than I hear about the Taiwanese economy and the Singaporean judicial system. Same comment about the Yemeni president rather than the Yemenite president. The quiz maker created a quiz about Asian countries' adjectives, picked a solid source, and as far as I can see executed it flawlessly. So far none of the commenters seems to have recognized that. |
