you could make one for major FCS (I-AA) conferences. there are currently 8 conferences receiving auto-bids to the playoffs

Where's the MAC? Go Western Michigan!

I'd prefer the Big East football teams, without the little no-names thrown in. 'Major' conferences would be as in BCS football teams. Otherwise there's no reason to exclude the WAC, MWC, etc. Actually, that quiz would be murderous.

schools like Villanova, Georgetown, St. John's, and Seton Hall aren't exactly no names in the basketball world. This quite obviously is a basketball quiz, and not a football quiz, and a very good one at that.

Actually, it's just a quiz on the full time members of the conference. The Big East has exceptions in football.

for schools like Southern Cal and Louisiana State, USC and LSU should be acceptable considering they known by their abbreviations more than their actual names, considering how common we use their abbreviations.

I disagree. If you ask people in the southeast who USC is, they're going to tell you South Carolina.

Only if they are from South Carolina, I live in Florida and when you talk college football, USC means Southern Cal.

Notre Dame isn't in the big east. They aren't affiliated with any conference, like army. this quiz is a travesty.

Notre Dame is Big East for basketball and most sports other than football - this quiz is a general quiz, not just for football.

Then the quiz should be more specific for which sport it's talking about. It's one of the five I missed. Well, Notre Dame sucks. Go Purdue.

Since this is a sports quiz, it should take common acronyms of these schools. i.e. FSU,UVA,VT,USC,LSU,etc

Why doesn't the quiz always accept a right answer the first time? It took me four tries to get it to accept Texas A&M. Same with Louisiana State (which, I agree, should be accepted with LSU). You accept Penn State for Pennsylvania State!

You need to specify football or basketball.

UNLV has never been in a major conference. It's just been one of the few non-major conference teams that has been successful in tournament play. If UNLV ever developed a decent football team, it'd be a lock to join the Pac-10 if that conference ever decided to expand to 12 teams.

It would have been nice to know that they meant Basketball as well, I'm sitting here with the Big East Football teams and looking thinking umm what goes here.

it is clearly basketball....just look at the big east list, just by looking at how many blank spots there are should give you a sense that there arent that many teams in big east football

Could somebody explain to a confused Englishman why there are eleven teams in the `Big Ten'?

Penn State joined in 1990, and "Big Eleven" just didn't sound as cool as "Big Ten." If you look at the Big Ten logo, there's an "11" inside it.
