	"The Spanish Prisoner" was a terrific movie. I think that's the only time I've seen him in a serious, dramatic role ("Novocaine" seemed to be more of a spoof), and he projected menace really, really well.

	Good call on Grand Canyon, juviejay. I think of Parenthood more as a comedy with some serious scenes, but it's been years and years since I saw it.

	Who else tried "Prince of Jerk" at least hoping for a bonus? As an actor, I think he needs a good director to rein in his overly expressive straight-man-isms, or his "hey look at me, the center of attention, I am so funny" isms. I like him more when he's not over the top... except maybe as Ruprect the Monkey Boy in ___ Rotten Scoundrels. I could probably watch that daily.

	@monstro, I remember seeing an interview with Ron Howard (the director of Parenthood) and he was talking about casting Martin in a serious role. I don't recall exactly what he said, but my impression was that it was the first time Martin had been in a serious (or at least partially serious) film.
