Y counts as a vowel, unless it's at the beginning of a word. Also try One different vowel countries: http://www.sporcle.com/games/penguinman95/all_vowels_same

No Colombo?

The title is poorly worded to the point where I couldn't figure out what you meant. If there's only one vowel, there's nothing "different."

I agree with Brobert2. On top of that, not every "y" in the middle of the word is a vowel. (In "Tokyo," for example, it is being used as a consonant.) Not a bad idea for a quiz, but poorly done.

Both Colombo and Tarawa should at least be bonuses. I also agree with both Brobert2 andt NYCub.

I was hoping for Colombo too. I disagree with NYCub and TreehuggnCowgirl. It is CLEARLY stated in the rules that "Y"'s count as a vowel. What's your problem? I can see the problem if it was NOT stated but it is.

Just because the quizmaker clearly states something doesn't mean it makes sense. There could have been a disclaimer that said "for the purposes of this quiz, 'p' and 'r' are vowels"...that wouldn't stop that rule from being a bad idea.

The word you're looking for is "distinct," not "different." You're welcome.
