	How can Brussel be lower than Amsterdam? Brussels hosts the NATO and EU headquarters. Amsterdam hosts prostitutes:).. I'm also surprised The Hague and Washington aren't on the list.

	It's a study done by a Japanese group, so that's probably why you have Fukuoka on this list. Their ranking comes mostly from livability and ecological factors, althoguh I'm not fully sure what those have to do with a "power" index. Also, I'm not sure that Boston should be listed, especially at the detriment of Washington or Atlanta.

	Boston belongs in my opinion...Its home to two of the best universities in the world and is the economic hub of New England.

	I like the GaWC ranking more. I think it's more accurate. NYC, London, Tokyo, and Paris are usually top 4 on any list.

	@myachimantis: This is a listing of the whole universe of cities ranked by the Institute for Urban Strategies. The minimal description given makes it appear that this is a list of the top 35 "most powerful" cities (whatever "powerful" means in this context), rather than simply the cities being surveyed. If you could clarify that this is not a "top 35" but rather simply all 35 surveyed, it would go a long way to relieving confusion about what people are guessing.

	Yeah, so Fukuoka is more powerful than Washington, Johannesburg, Istanbul and Dubai? I would also guess there are a fair number of people who would consider Jerusalem, Baghdad, Tehran, and any of the countless 7-digit-population centers of India or China more powerful as well. I'm a tree-hugger with many of the best of them, but ecology has nothing to do with power, sorry.
