| Pettitte definitely deserves to be on this list. First off, he spent three years on the Astros, over which he had a winning percentage of .587, so you can't say that he's only been successful on the Yankees. He also didn't have a losing record a single year this decade (or his entire career) and won two World Series and five pennants (one on the Astros). His ERA+ for the decade is 114, and he's one of the few pitchers who actually served for the entire decade.
That being said, I think that the major outlier on this list is Jamie Moyer (ERA+ of only 103 over the entire decade), who I would probably replace with Josh Beckett. Glavine's ERA+ was 114 from 2000-2008, but he didn't have much of an impact pitching on uncompetitive teams and only received Cy Young votes once. Maddux's cases is unsurprisingly similar, and their decade is more the 1990s than the 2000s. |
