	@chickamucka...You're right. That's the most drastic of the changes I referenced in the game note. In most versions that line appears near the end in place of the one that's here. Again, I went with this version because it's from the most famous particular recording. The line carol references was intentionally changed. In other places this version differs from the "official" version in more minor ways, including one spot where I'm pretty sure the singer unintentionally reversed a rhyme from the way the lyrics are written.

	Just out of curiosity, whose version is this? I would take "official" to mean from the movie where it made its debut; interesting fact, the second line was originally going to be "It may be your last," but this was changed as it was deemed to be too dark.

	This is actually the original version of the lyric(except for the minor reversal mentioned). It was rewritten at the request of Judy Garland, oddly enough. The line "hang a shining star upon the highest bough" replaced "until then we'll have to muddle through somehow." Garland thought the original lyric was too depressing. I don't know how the revised version got to be "official," though. (Incidentally, it's technically not a carol, but that's a minor point.)

	I would think that you would have used the more common/modern version of this song. Would have been great, but this version is not as well known.

	It's actually "Faithful friends who are dear to us, will be near to us once more" (you have dear and near switched). I can't wait for Christmas.

	@niners...it was certainly meant to be the way you put it. However, I believe that in the Judy Garland recording I used for this quiz, she screwed up the lyrics and swapped dear & near and either they didn't notice or they thought it sounded so good they didn't bother re-recording.
