Yeah, I think needing middle initials on some is overkill. Also, though Debategate occurred during that president's term, it was really about the other candidate's campaign team...

The XYZ affair was really a scandal on Adam's part. It was more of something that escalated into something negative.

I would prefer that the president has to be matched to the scandal. It's not too hard to name all of the presidents in 5 minutes, even having to type full names.

Requiring first and last name is understandable since there are two of Johnson, Bush, Adams, Harrison, Roosevelt. Middle initials are overkill, unless it defines John Q Adams or George H W Bush.

The Pentagon Papers were not released until Nixon's administration as well, and it was Nixon's attempt to discredit Ellsberg that folded the scandal into the Watergate hearings...
