| I gave you a 1 just for the stupidity of the list. Even though you didn't write it, you did CHOOSE it. Picking "mankind" as the #1 villain is like when Time Magazine names "The American Consumer" as its person of the year. The inclusion of Sinister (a goofy-ass villain whose goofiness would only have made sense/been acceptable using Claremont's original origin) is also pretty bad. I'd also take issue with Mystique. Granted, I haven't read the comics since '97 or so, but by the time she'd turned good and joined X-Factor (ie, ended her criminal career - she may have since returned to it of course), she really hadn't done much at all to distinguish herself as a villain. She was just a weak leader of Freedom Force, whose most fearsome member (by far) was Spiral. Same kind of goes for the Shadow King, who is a great villain and very cool, but who would only have merited his placement here if Claremont's original storyline (meant to culminate around the time Claremont left) had played out as intended. As it is the character never did much. The other choices are good, although Juggs and Apocalypse should be much higher, and Sabretooth should be on the list. |
