Are Hunter and Archer really not in your dictionary?

Nope. "Hunter" is listed under the entry for "hunt," and "archer" is listed under the entry for "archery." I had to draw a line or there would have been many more names (Drew, Miles, Brooks, Walker), so I limited the game to words that had their own entries.

Good idea for a quiz! Will you make a girls one?

What about Marshall? It's a verb and a noun in it's own right surely?

@shark47- I do plan on making one for the girls as soon as I have the time to comb through another thousand names with a dictionary! I'm hoping there will be fewer answers. @Chandelier- I originally thought so and had Marshall on my list, but as it turns out the word is spelled "marshal," with just one L.

Enjoyable quiz, this. I am however a bit surprised your dictionary doesn't include joey, jake, or joe. Chad, cole, brent are more understandable. And the inconsistency of having fisher and tanner as separate entries, but neither hunter, archer nor sawyer seems odd.

What about Sawyer? #173 in 2010, and 'one who saws wood, especially as an occupation.'

Words or not words, Sawyer, Joey, Joe, Jake, Chad, Cole, and Brent are all unfortunately not in my dictionary. Fisher and Tanner are here because they were separate entries in my dictionary, but Hunter, Archer, and Sawyer were not. Some of these were surprising to me, too, but I had to pick a standard and go by it.
