good quiz. one thing to correct though. it is "Long Island" not just an island that happens to be called "Long." I live there..it's official name is "Long Island"

geographun, I know that Long Island is called Long Island. I live there too, I just thought that if all the other islands are accepted without "Island", it should be as well.

thats dumb, do people say hey are you from "long"? no never, they say long island. I might say manhattan, but people do still refer to it as manhattan island. Noone ever refers to long island as simply Long.

'South' and 'North' are hardly official names either. So 'Long' must be OK.
