Toast? I've never had toasted beef... or steamed beef or boiled beef for that matter

BBQ is a slangy abbreviation. Barbecue is the real term. I doubt very much if anyone's ever put beef in a toaster. Generally, when beef is cooked in the oven it's called raosting, not baking. I've had steamed and boiled beef. I've also had braised and stewed beef.

the very thought of toasted, boiled or steamed beef makes me want to huck. bekah is right, you braise, sear or roast beef. those are actual terms.

I'm imagining someone trying to cram a steak into a toaster and...well, I'm wondering exactly how high you have to be to think that's a good idea.
