	I'm embarrassed to admit that the first description of William that came into my head wasn't "the first", or "the conqueror", or even "of Normandy". I still think it should be acceptable as an answer though - I wasted valuable seconds over that! Enjoyable quiz - hope there's a sequel =)

	@Rebecca I'm not sure it's any different from Brits/etc. making comments about mediocre results on US geography. I'd actually say that 9 isn't that bad for an American, assuming they were actual answers and not the result of random guessing or trying the same answer until it worked for one of the clues. Great quiz, and more please!

	Should alter the following to take into account the changes in monarchs: English Civil War- Charles I/Charles II (Charles II was named King after Charles I's execution in 1649, and the Civil War ended in 1651) Glorious Revolution- James II/William III and Mary II (James deposed in the process, William and Mary crowned) Other than that, great quiz.

	@imperium: in fact, the glorious revolution is the name of the transition itself. so it's kind of silly to ask who the monarch was during the transition from james ii to william iii and mary ii.

	I did quite well on that, and I learned most of it from Tony Robinson. I think a lot of us learned our history from things like Blackadder, to be honest.

	Like this one a lot - and good to see a fair mix of mediaeval, early modern & modern. Somewhat disappointed (but not that surprised) to see Grt Reform Act the least answered, and not at all surprised to see the Armada the most answered! @imperium - the civil war is usually considered 1642-49, with the execution) of Charles I seen as taking place after the war. So, although I appreciate the point you are trying to make, it's not really valid in strict chronological terms. Your point on the glorious revolution, though, is fair.

	The first English Parliament is a bit contentious. There was a similar body the "Witan" functioning in Anglo-Saxon times, and the Great Counsel from 1066. Many sources suggest that King John summoned parliaments before Henry III, and others suggest that the first legal parliament was established by Edward I.

	James VI and James VII being accepted too would be nice... Iknow this is about the monarchs of England and Great Britain and the UK respectively, but my first instinct is always that they are VI and VII...
