Similarly, in Bengali (not Bangladeshi), ki khobor is "What's up?". Hello is "Nomoshkar" for Bengali Hindus and "Shelaam" for BEngali Muslims.

The problem with this is that there's just so many ways of saying hi that you need to allow a large number of alternatives.

Also several of these languages use non-Latin alphabets, so you need to allow for multiple ways of transcribing the words into Latin characters.
