	Where are the Dallas Mavericks? Also, the Blue Jackets and Wild are based off animals. (Nashville Predators a maybe.)

	False. False false false false false. The Mavericks aren't named after the animal, they're named after the term that the animal was named after (itself named after a rancher named Maverick who refused to brand his cattle.) Blue Jackets are named for Ohio's large role in the Civil War, where Union soldiers obviously wore blue jackets. The Wild contains both fauna (animals) and flora (plants.) Predators you have a case for, as they were inspired by sabre-toothed tiger remains found in Nashville. Beyond that, you're totally wrong.

	As for the quiz, nice job. "Cowboys" could serve as a bonus given it DOES contain an animal in the team name (same to a lesser extent for GiANTs.) Otherwise, very solid, especially remembering that Thrashers are birds.

	What about the Buffalo Sabre's? If you include Wild then the name of the quiz should be changed as that is not an animal.

The sense of "calf that has wandered off its owner's land" predates that by almost two decades. As do why the team is named what it's named, I dunno.

	Except that the term came from Sam Maverick because he didn't brand the cows, hence the wandering brandless cows called "mavericks" and not "wandering brandless cows." If you're going to go by etymology then the original source is a man, not an animal (unless you're considering humans on the list, meaning everything from "Cavaliers" to "Browns" has to be included.) In any case, the team is clearly named for mavericks as in outlaws, not as in cattle, especially considering one of the minority owners, James Garner, was the star of "Maverick" (in which he portrayed a human.) Especially considering the animal mascot they use is a horse, not cattle of any kind.

	I knew Blue Jackets didn't represent animals, I don't know why I included that. Also I meant to make the Wild a Bonus Answer and I made a couple other bonus answers based on suggestions. Let me know if anything else is wrong or should be added.

	Bluejackets are not based off animals...they had a bug (Stinger) on their shoulder patch, but the team is named after the Civil War regiment in Ohio. Good quiz, but too much time. You could name all the teams in half the time. Buffalo Sabres & Bills are not named after animals. Blackhawks are after a Native American tribe. Pistons & Chargers are horses. Flyers and Redwings are a bit more vague, but could be bonuses. If you're going by depiction (like it appears with the Bills & Sabres) then the Mavericks should also be included (and again, the Pistons too).
