Somewhat of a strange cutoff for considering a city at 440,000. This leaves off Miami and Minneapolis, even though their metropolitan areas are much bigger than some of the cities included.

Given that there are only 40 or so cities over 440000, this is essentially just a "name the biggest cities" quiz.

Can you indicate these temperature also in degrees Celsius so I can be aware of the gap ? [2] . the americans are the only ones that use the fahrenheit unit, the rest of the world uses celsius.. you should remember that the sporcle is for all the world

I'm surprised there are none from Florida. I always thought it was hot there.

I'm stunned that Dallas isn't on the hottest list, especially since both Austin and Oklahoma City are. I always thought July and August in particular were brutal here, but I guess I could be living in Phoenix!

I knew Vegas was hotter than it is here in Tucson! Last time we went to Vegas I complained about the heat, insisting it must be worse, and no one believed me. Now I have proof! Phoenix as number one was a no brainer. Nice and toasty.

@geodude: It's a quiz of American cities, so it's logical to use Fahrenheit.

In reference to the issue of big metros being excluded due to small inner city populations, you should adjust the definition to be that of a metro. (Example: While only 350,000 or so people live in Minneapolis, 3.1 million live in Minneapolis, Saint Paul, and their suburbs. Clearly this qualifies for big city status.)
