| Glad to hear that you liked the quiz, rockgolf!
A few things...I did a little bit of fact-checking and here's what I found. You are right in that "Free Bird" in its live incarnation did make the top 40, but not the top 20 (it peaked at #38). Also, "Cherry, Cherry" from Neil Diamond's Hot August Night album made the top 40, but not the top 20 (it peaked at #31).
I wasn't even aware of the existence of "Try to Remember/The Way We Were," but you are right, it did make the top 20 and I have added it to the quiz.
Also, Richie Havens' version of "Here Comes the Sun" went to #16 in 1971, although I didn't realize it was recorded live. If so, then yes, that would definitely count. I have added it to the quiz, too.
I have also added another song to the quiz which I had completely forgot about until now.
Fixed the "My Ding-a-Ling" to allow "My dingaling" as an acceptable response. I am not yet a whiz at the art of Sporcle-creating, but when I figure out how to resize the columns to the most optimal amount, I will do so.
And my source? A combination of statistics from allmusic.com and memory. I'm probably still missing some songs, so if you think of any, feel free to comment and I'll add them to this quiz.
Thanks again! |
