| @snorkley, whilst the marathon and walks are road races, they should absolutely be accepted in this category. The reason being, the correct term for what americans call 'track and field' is: 'athletics'. There is no such thing as the world track and field championships, there is however the world athletics championships in which the marathon and walks are included. Its just another example of Americans changing the names of world wide accepted sports (calling it soccer instead of football, hockey instead of ice hockey, and track and field instead of athletics). |
