How does Fort Worth qualify but not New York? Also, Fort Worth is not on the source list.

Yea, Fort Worth doesn't count. Besides, this should be based on metro population. Of course, I do realize that everyone has different methods of doing this.

Not a bad idea, but the concept needs work --- be consistent on using either the city or the metro area. Fort Worth is the most egregious example, since the Cowboys actually play closer to Fort Worth than they do to Dallas. But San Jose just as easily has the 49ers.

while it may be true that those teams play closer to those cities they are still known as the DALLAS cowboys and the NEW YORK giants/jets and the SAN FRANCISCO 49ers. As for the whole "metro population vs city" debate, this quiz is called "Largest CITIES without an NFL team" if you want one that has metro areas you can make that yourself.

I realize that Fort Worth is not on the source list. I used that source to find the majority of the cities, the rest I found elsewhere.

All the cities on the quiz are listed by their city populations, not metro area populations so I don't see how I am being inconsistent on using cities and metro areas

And to make things even more interesting, the 49ers home office and practice field are located in Santa Clara, which is next door to San Jose. Both cities are about 45 to 60 miles from San Francisco.

Okay then, what about Boston, Boston proper has over 600,000, and what most people refer to as the city of Boston is much bigger, and the metro area bigger still. However the team is in Foxboro which is 35 miles outside of Boston (driving distance, not true distance) So why is Boston not on the list?

Minneapolis-St Paul? the Vikings play in Bloomington I think. The idea is good but really needs to be refined somewhat.

minneapolis-st. paul is a METRO AREA. If you went by the population size for each separate city, none of them are large enough in population to make it on this list.

The Vikings play in downtown Minneapolis, they haven't played in Blommington in almost 30 years. The Mall of America is on the site of their former stadium.

Can you include the rankings of the cities? The color scheme is odd. I don't think people care about the population size. A hint such as the state the city is located in would be helpful.

OK, I just updated the quiz...here are the new qualifications for the cities: 1. No city with an NFL team playing in it (i.e. Fort Worth/Arlington) 2. No metro areas (i.e. Minneapolis-St Paul) 3. No cities with teams whose entire state/region has a team (i.e. Tennessee Titans, New England Patriots, Arizona Cardinals). If you have any more suggestions please let me know.

Do does that mean that you're counting East Rutherford in the New York metro area?
Also, there are almost 200 miles between Knoxville and Nashville, but they count as the same area, but Columbus is closer to both Cincinnati and Cleveland (and Pittsburgh for that matter) than that.

I'm not including Nashville or Memphis because the team is called the Tennessee titans. If I were to put one of those cities on there I would get lots of people complaining that those cities do have a team. I'm not including New York and Washington DC because I would get people complaining that they have the Giants and the Redskins.

It seems totally ridiculous to say that Tucson and Memphis have teams but that San Jose does not. This should really be done based on metro areas.

Nashville obviously has a team. Memphis, just as obviously, does not have a team. Do San Antonio and Austin have baseball teams because of the Texas Rangers? Did San Jose used to have a baseball team when the Angels were called the "California Angels," but then stop having one when they changed to the "Anaheim Angels"?

You can guess the major cities that are in the Inland Empire Metro Area you don't have to type "Inland Empire Metro area." It's also the third most correctly guessed so i wouldn't say that it is not available to the typical quiz taker.

I think it's a great quiz and you've done your best. Thumbs up! The answers to this type of quiz are always going to be argued somewhat. If lots of people all say the same and want an answer changed, then I guess make a change, otherwise don't worry about it. Definitions are good too, I guessed Riverside and got "Inland Empire Metro area" - perfect.
