Accept abbreviations! And alternate country names... otherwise a decent quiz.

Gambia is the more common name, not "The Gambia" -- otherwise, "The Netherlands," "The United Kingdom," "The Sudan," etc. Also, you forgot Federated States of Micronesia.

I like that you only accept long names, but then also mention it in the quiz...

Cote d'Ivoire should be accepted for (or actually preferred to) Ivory Coast.

Definitely need to accept Timor Leste and Cote d'Ivoire...and not to open a can of worms, since Im certainly no grammatician (see?), but wouldnt the hyphen make Guinea-Bissau "technically" one word?

OK idea, but riddled with faults, like everyones been saying. Also, if youre going to accept long names only, the federated states of micronesia should be in

Sporcle standard - Micronesia is out, as is "The Gambia". Accept Sporcle standard Cote D'Ivoire and Timor-Leste - you alphabetized one of them correctly, why wouldn't you accept the alternate (preferred) name? And DRC, CAR, US, UK, etc.

Accept USA, DRC, UAE, UK and CAR abbreviations. Also, you usually only have to type in St Vincent for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

I say if you're wanting multiple word countries, then it is very appropriate to expect long form, multiple WORD answers and NOT USA, DRC, UK, etc.. The time is adequete to fully type all the words, so give your fingers some exercise and don't be so lazy!

Agreed with shakira... the whole point of this quiz is to know the full names of the countries. Abbreviations kind of defeat the purpose in my opinion.

My only complaint? Republic of Ireland, People's Republic of China. Bonus answers.

I disagree with BingKafei. If you accept those, you'd need to accept Argentine Republic, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Russian Federation, etc. Nearly every country has a multiple word long form.

Is Guinea-Bissau considered one word?

Sporcle standard is Micronesia, not FSoM. Also, despite the hyphen, Guinea-Bissau is two words. A hyphen doesn't make something one word.

@Frederick_M if you look at the title it says it is countries more than one word long so I do say it is long words in the title
