What makes this quiz "super hard"?
Apr 24th, 2012 at 14:10 GMT
^ I suppose it's the number of false answers included. However, if you *know* that the capital of California is Sacramento (as most Sporclers do, I think), there's no great difference between having to choose from "Sacramento, Los Angeles" and "Sacramento, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Diego, San Jose, Fresno, etc."

^True. I would not call this super hard. On the other hand, many people, myself included, know most of the capitals but have trouble remembering whether Montgomery, Mobile or Birmingham is the capital of Alabama, whether Santa Fe or Albuquerque is the capital of New Mexico, whether Anchorage or Juneau, is the capital of Alaska etc. So it is nice to have those tricky ones as decoys.

The quiz is "super hard" probably because of the strict time limit. At only ~5 seconds to remember and find each capital, there's no time for second-guessing or pondering at all. You really have to rely on your instincts and make impulse decisions, which is risky when a lot of the states have bizarre choices for capitals.

Good quiz. I almost twisted my self into a pretzel finding the right answer without running out of time. Five Sporcle Globes from me.
