It should be possible to complete this puzzle with no prior knowledge of Shakespeare's play, and I apologise to Shakespeare and his fans. Both 'in a direct line' and 'adjacent' include diagonals.
The setting is Windsor Great Park at night. You, Fenton, are trying to find the love of your life, Anne Page, in order to marry her before her parents manage to marry her off to one of her many other suitors. Unfortunately the other suitors are also in the park, along with Anne's parents, Mr and Mistress Page, who are involved in their own plots. To add to the fun, several characters are in disguise. Can you find Anne before time runs out? Entering the disguises will not end the quiz, but it won't unlock the next clue.

	Stuck at 6/30... you definitely should be more clear about several things, like in the instructions "adjacent" and "in a direct line" includes diagonals (but I'm assuming it does). Also, D5's clue, Mistress Ford is NEXT to Mistress Page on the left? In the same line on the left? Or anywhere on the grid further left than Miss Page? Be clear about that. Also is "Mistress Page" Anne, or Anne's mom? And still, knowing these things, I'm not exactly sure how to progress from A1, B2, C3, C4, D3, and D5.

	I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're intending for us to get the hobgoblin next (since it seems to be the only thing mentioned in more than one clue)? Well first of all, nothing indicates there isn't more than one hobgoblin, and Pistol being disguised as one doesn't make it clear whether he is the same hobgoblin C3 mentions, or whether he is separate from a REAL hobgoblin lurking somewhere. We know a hobgoblin (or maybe someone disguised as one) is in a corner not in A1 or E6. Either A6 or E1 can either still have one. Sure, Pistol can't be in A6, but what's to say a real hobgoblin can't?

	I love this, but I'm a little confused about how you figure out whether Anne is in D6 or E5? (I guessed, and was luckily right, but I think I missed the relevant clue.)

	Heh, thanks I see you cleared up everything :) but now I'm stuck at the same point as FretfulP. The last step, with three squares left. Yes I also guessed, (and was lucky), but judging by that guess, Anne is supposed to be who you get next because you have to get her before either of them. The question is, like Fretful said, how do you know if it's D6 or E5? I'm curious.

	Thanks for the comments. There were a few teething problems there! The clue in A6 should tell you where Anne is, but it sounds as though I need to look at that again.

	I got to the same point - three squares left and narrowed it down to two of them for Anne's location. And how do you find out who's in A5? A6 only tells us who isn't.

	I can't get past 11/30. Is there any way there could be a tutorial? I really want to finish this. Does anybody have any pointers?

	Hi Frisky. If you do it in the same order I do you probably have a1,b1,e1, b2, c2, d2, c3,d3, b4, c4 and d5? From there you should be able to locate the doctor (see b1, b2, c2) and Mr Ford (see e1 c2 b4 and d5). Hope that helps.

	found doctor, but can't find Mr. Ford. Some how found Mr Slender. Going to solve this. I'm determined ( or stubborn) to d o it, Plus I like it a lot.

	last comment. I promise. I got past that point but didn't realize you had to fill in all the squares. Can't find any more characters except spear. I;m missing something. Can't wait for cheat sheet. Found Anne! Great puzzle tho!

	Once you've got Ford that unlocks a4, which together with the clues you already have gives you Slender, Shallow and Page. Picking through all the vegetation clues should unlock the rest of it. Glad you are enjoying it!

	Great quiz, took me forever to work out the solution (almost 30 minutes in total). Some minor quibbles: 'Pisto' triggers Pistol's square; you start off telling us to type 'fairies', 'oak', and 'bush', but then I was a bit uncertain with tree and elves, especially since I wasn't sure if there would be a specific type of tree needed; last, it's hard to know which ones are disguises and which are names. I was hesitant to type Slender and Shallow in case that meant I would get the square but miss the next clue. In the end, common sense prevailed, but it might be useful to be a bit clearer.

Great fun. Ran out of time on the 2nd go after taking four goes to type 'priest' accurately

	I finally managed to figure it out after several tries. I really liked the story in this puzzle, great job! However, I found some of the clues a bit confusing, especially regarding the person dressed in white and some other minor quibbles mentioned by some other posters. I would like to have had the maximum time limit here too, since it's about logic and not speed. But overall this was really nicely done!

	I was at a readthrough of the play last night and only then realised how accurately this quiz reflects the onstage goings-on (all but the spear-carrier, a very happy thought). Excellent job!
