You have many of the NBA champions wrong. The celtics won in 2008, the heat won in 2006, and the pistons won in 2004. Not sure where you got your facts from.

Why list the NFL champions by the year the Super Bowl was played but list the NCAAF champions by the year that the regular season occurred? Probably should stick to one theme there.

I took TD3000's advice, especially going by what I said in the game note (who won the championship game in each particular year).

Um...yeah, this realy should be redone because the dates are not right on the NCAA football....

@MooseJohnston: The dates should be correct now. For example, Florida State won the national championship for the 1999 regular season, but the championship game was played in the year 2000.

You should specify for NCAA Football that it's the BCS, not the AP.

Not that it affects the quiz, but technically, the NHL did not play the '04-'05 because of an owners' lockout, not a players' strike.

@kevin: You might know that Syracuse is the Orange, but even if he was accepting school nicknames for colleges, it would have been the Orangemen, which is what they were called at the time. So, you're wrong either way

buffalo Sabres won the presidents cup in 2006-2007. Isn't that finishing the season as the number #1 rank

no. it's not BCS vs. AP. the NCAAF championship game is played after new year's day. but the champion is for the previous year. example: Alabama def. Texas in the 2010 BCS Championship game, but won the 2009 National Championship. Every NCAAF champion listed above is a year ahead.

I didn't see the bottom three until about 20 seconds to go. LOL. Entered Tiger, Johnson, and Federer and Nadal and got most of them. Who would have thought of VJ in golf? Good quiz.

Have to agree with the comment that the NHL season was canceled due to a lockout - not a players strike.

@Henry: President's Trophy in the NHL is only the best record in the regular season. All it does is guarantees the top seed for the entire playoffs. Nobody really cares about that trophy; however, because most teams win it when a very good team controls a very weak division (like Vancouver in 2010-11, when they went up against 3 of the 10 worst teams in the league)
