	Villanova would be a bonus... they won the FCS national championship in football last year. Yeah, I know you're not including them, but they are a 1A school due to their membership in the Big East.

	@Rdub Nova is not "1A" due to their membership in the BIg East in most sports. They were 1-AA which in football was renamed FCS. Membership in major conferences is often sport to sport -- look at sports like hockey where often times conferences look completely different or ND belonging to Big East basketball but not football. The term "1-A" only referred to football, and was changed to FCS. Different schools' sports can also be D-1 or D-3 depending on the sport -- like Johns Hopkins D-1 lacrosse but D-3 most other sports.

	I wouldn't count Kentucky. Oklahoma won both the AP and UPI national Championships in 1950. I know this stuff is contentious, but Kentucky only had one poll ranking it number one at the end of that season. This is behind not only the accepted champion Oklahoma, but also Tennessee (#1 in 6 polls) and Princeton (#1 in 2 polls).

	@bmo1616: Youre right about the BCS being retarded, but Utah was not the official champion so i'm not including them. @Rdub19: I'm not including Villanova since its not d1a in football. @Fingon: You're right about Kentucky, I did a bit more research and they consider themselves co-champions but Oklahoma was the official champion, so I downgraded them to a bonus answer. @sethhimself14: LSU has never won a basketball championship.

	I think Stanford is a pretty shaky answer. Just because a team claims a championship or one poll says they are the winner, doesn't mean it is officially recognized. For example, UNC does not get credit for its 1924 basketball championship, even though we have the banner hanging in the Smith center.

	When are you considering national basketball championships to begin? The University of Pittsburgh won national championships in 1927-28 and 1929-30, obviously before the Final Four era. Pitt also won the NCAA football championship in 1976.

	@SirMattio: I am using College Football Data Warehouse for my unbiased list of football champions, and it recognizes Stanford as having one championship (not gonna lie, found it on "NCAA football champions" Wikipedia page, but I consider it reliable nonetheless) @ianmez: The NCAA basketball championship tournament began in 1939, which is the first year we have officially recognized NCAA basketball champions.

	@mdkid2012: then perhaps change the quiz name to "NCAA" champions or "NCAA tournament champions" to resolve the ambiguity? Because Pitt is an NCAA D1 school and it has won 2 national basketball championships. Nice quiz, anyway!

	Arkansas claim the 1964 National Championship, but the two main polls were AP and UPI, and they both had Alabama as the National Champion.

	The NCAA does not recognize any national champion at a 1A/FBS level, so Villanova is the ONLY school that has won national titles in division 1 in both sports. They should be included as a bonus if nothing else.

	I would remove Arkansas, they claim 1964 but no Sports Almanac backs up their claim. Back then the bowl games didn't count towards the final poll and those polls gave it to Alabama. The Tide lost their bowl game and Arkansas won theirs. The Polls then included the bowl games the very next year.

	if you used the the college football champions that are recognized then California,Arkansas and Stanford never won a football championship. the AP,UPI,and Coaches Poll are the only ones recognized by the NCAA.

	You are missing Pitt. 2 Basketball championships and 9 Football . Yes the basketball ones were before the NCAA tournament started, but since you are listing poll winners for football, then basketball poll winners, pre-NCAA tournament should count also.
