I've gotta ask you - do you have a source for these quizzes, or have you counted yourself?

What about characters who use multiple names? There's one character in particular I'm thinking of -- neither of his/her names appears on the quiz, but I would guess that both his/her names are mentioned a combined total of 38 times.

Just counted at least 50 instances of "Arstan". So Arstan Whitebeard/Barristan Selmy should certainly be on this list. Pretty sure Strong Belwas should be here too.

Also, are you counting combined totals for alternative names such as Mace Tyrell/Lord Tyrell because he's referred to as both roughly equally.

Arstan and Mace were both right at the cutoff line and made it now when adding Lord Tyrell and Barristan. Also, google books doesn't allow more than 2-3 instances of a name being mentioned to appear on a given page in search if it's not a preview page which means these numbers are probably half of their actual totals but should still be roughly accurate relative to one another. If I had the time to manually count each instance I'd do it. But I feel sorry for anyone who does.

I cannot believe Shae is not one of the top mentioned characters in this book.

I understand why you can't take last names in general, but I feel like "Selmy" should count.

I'm actually reading this now and only got 27. I am bad at remembering made-up names.

Can't believe I missed Hodor! Also, some surprise omissions here, such as Missandei, Tommen and Styr (the Magnar).

Even only counting those who start this novel alive, more than 20% are dead by the end of it. What a bloodbath.
