Can you name the countries with alternating consonants and vowels (or vice versa) in their names?
created by
marzoz10
Enter a country in the box below
Correctly named countries will show up below
Answers do not have to be guessed in order
***The letter 'y' counts as a vowel sound when it is phonetically rendered as /i/ (as in "silly") and as a (semi-)consonant when it is /j/ (as in "you"). *** Pattern must continue across words.

UAE added earlier today. Don't know what the deal is with Yemen. I re-entered it in the data sheet, but it still won't show the percent right. I've seen this before on games, just some kind of glitch. Or maybe the CIA won't let Yemen be counted anymore because of terrorism LOL.

I don't think Kyrgyzstan has ever failed quite so much on a quiz...

can't have any two consonants or vowels touching, foster. Liek the SC in Madagascar or the CC in Morocco. What about San Marino? Two words. Both work. I know the N and M border, but they are in different words.

@thedpr: I've found few sporcle games created earlier, with published remakes, not originals. Obviously it is not important to come first with good idea, but also have some luck. Sorry for my bad english, I'm not native speaker.

Yes, definitely forgetting San Marino, especially if Vatican City is accepted, with the N-C touching.

If Y is a consonant, as in Yemen, how is Italy valid? You can't have both.

New instructions added: "Pattern must repeat across words". Took out "Vatican City" as bonus. When I title a new game and the Sporcle engine looks for similar and it doesn't find any, I assume it's okay to make the game. One couldn't scour every Sporcle quiz to double check... :)

Y is a consonant in Yemen just like in yellow, whereas it's a vowel in Italy, just like in sky
