Ah, good point. I should specify that I am actually going for active euthanasia here, which is illegal in Switzerland.

Interesting. Was surprised by some - like Slovenia and Albania discussing the legalization of same-sex marriage. On the other hand, that France didn't pop up anywhere.

Nice to live in the most liberal country in Europe (and therefore in the world) -- The Netherlands. Even though I don't use marijuana or want to marry another guy or commit euthanasia. It's nice to know you can if you want.

Don't be surprised at Slovenia, they are pretty much on the level of western europe in terms of prosperity and social attitudes. It's easy to associate them with the rest of the balkans but it's unfair. Albania on the other hand, that is a surprise. A cool one though, first muslim nation to legalize gay marriage if it goes through.

Does "Discussed" mean they have discussed it and decided against it or they are currently discussing it? If they are currently discussing it you should probably use the present tense.

not marriage, just civil partnership. i.e., it's not a marriage in god's eyes, just the state's. i'm not sure if that's consistent with what's there though. albania a shock, more an education than a quiz but still fun!

This would work better as a "Group by same hint" quiz.

Albania, Moldova and Russia. Surprising. Good for them. When I was in Switzerland a few years ago I could have sworn they decriminilized marijuana. Or at least that is what some guy convinced me when he was showing me the plants growing outside his guesthouse.

@artofthestate, what does God have to do with the legal state of marriage?! Civil partnerships are exactly the same in all but name, I think the countries that allow them should be on here, even if just as bonuses.

I got too into just trying to think up more European countries, and I definitely guessed the Vatican. In case you're wondering, it's not an accepted answer.

Even though the Netherlands is such a liberal country, it still is a very boring one.
