i didn't know that there were so few... that's unacceptable. one day i hope this quiz will be the same as "can you name all the countries of the world"

I admire your optimism, transparentblack, but considering that so few first-world nations are even willing to entertain the concept, I feel that's a pipe dream... for another few hundred years, at least.

@croyer: That is essentially creating second-class citizens. The good news is: Within a few months we can add two more countries to the list. :) (Portugal and Slovenia) Maybe bonuses for USA and Mexico, where parts recognize it?

It isn't going to take a "few hundred years" for same-sex marriage to be legalized in the first world. It isn't going to happen quickly, but it will be within the lifetime of every person who is reading this comment.

New Zealand has civil partnerships and (sorry to go against the grain) but I think that this is the way it will commonly go for a while. Not marriage. And I don't think it's disgraceful that nations recognise it and legalise it without labelling it 'marriage' - provided it is legally recognised...

Nepal has ruled in favor of it; they just haven't actually enacted the legislation allowing it. I think this is the same with Mexico. Bonus answers, perhaps?

Positive news here almost every continent has a represnetative (Except Oceania) Plus wouldn't South Africa, Mexico and Argentina be considered "developing countries?" (Though they are more advanced then most "developing countries")
