Rhode Island should at least be a bonus answer, since the proper full name is The State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.

I needed another minute. I've always been proud to be from Illinois. And yes Teddy, I agree, we should get extra points for spelling Mississippi correctly.

@PilgrimPez: 1.) Sporcle is based in Seattle, Washington, USA. You're an outsider. 2.) If you don't like the quizzes, you don't have to play them. Especially today, when you can choose from 11 other ones. 3.) I don't much care for the Counties of England quiz, but I don't complain about it in the comments.

That many more people got Virginia but didn't get West Virginia? Must have just been running out of time... There should be a little bit more time on this quiz.

Need more time! Didn't really have time to think, and if I had more time I probably would have been able to get quite a few more. Interesting quiz though XD

Good idea but not long enough, we're not all American and don't know our states as well as you do. And why are they not in alphabetical order? That would help.

I missed the state that my entire elementary school spelled endlessly because of the repeating letters. Did anyone else do that as a kid? Spell long, difficult words because you could? My ENTIRE school decided to do that for some reason in 2nd grade. M-I-S-S-I-S-S-I-P-P-I...
