Excellent quiz. Nitpick: "Annette" for Ms. Bening (halfway down the actor/actress column).

...psst! Carrie Fisher, not Carrie Fischer (in the instructions). Also, Star Wars didn't win the Best Picture. You're probably better off to go with an actual example from your list anyways.

Nice quiz, but you still need to fix LOTR which still requires you to type in the hyphens.

For LotR you should display the name that actually distinguishes it from the other two, and which it is generally called, The Return of the King.

Thanks pator, Casablanca was 1st released in 1942 but it won the Oscar in 1944 for 1943.

Great quiz! And you're correct on Casablanca, manonthemoon, but you're one year late for From Here to Eternity, which won its Oscar in 1954 for 1953.

Typing in "20 a 2003" wouldn't work for me, for Lord of the Rings. Can you fix that?

Thanks beaujarkko, From Here To Eternity isn't on the list though! All the data is in for LOTR (twice) and it's working fine here. I'm not sure what the problem could be.

Great quiz, but something seems to be wrong. I typed in the correct answer for 20 a good half dozen times (alternating with 03 and 06 because I was not sure) but it never took.

I also had a problem with 20, frustrated because it wouldn't take, so I left it for the last one to be sure and even then, it just wouldn't take.

Oh, the answer for 20 will only take if you don't put spaces in the answer. Please fix this!

First, (and this is long overdue), a note to my two hands: "Dear touch-typing-fingers: Please, will you finally just learn that a '0' is not an 'O'. Thank you."
Now, a note to the games's creator, manonthemoon: "Great game, and lots of fun! Thanks!"

Nice quiz, but would have been better if the first column wasn't "cute" with the pyramid, but alphabetical by the movie title.

similar issues as reported earlier. Also, there were only 2 or three I didn't "know" that I could have easily got from deduction, but time ran out. Must be ridiculously slow typer and there were some that I had to type multiple times for it to take

Kinda sneaky putting Marlon Brando in there with "Godfather" and it being incorrect...although I knew that Eva Marie Saint wasn't in either Godfather 1 or 2 (I like to forget about 3).

Titanic won its Oscar 1998! Not 1997.

@yeda The quiz lists the years by when the film was released, not by when it won its Oscar, e.g. Slumdog Millionaire released in 2008, The Silence of the Lambs released in 1991, etc.

@MitchTacy I beg to differ. Above the third column is written: "Year of Win".

I love the quiz but I always fail on quizzes with answers are number-letter-number. I keep hitting numbers when I mean to hit letters for the middle answer.

I'm calling shenanigans. 42% of people taking this quiz got all the answers? I'm a film buff and only got 2/3 of them. You're all taking the quiz more than once. J'accuse!

@ktappe Well, I confess. I *didn't* take it more than once, but I *did* some, ahem, advance planning before I started the timer.

@ktappe: I'm one of the 42% and I take offense at your accusation. I'm not much of a film buff, but these are well known movies, the actors listed are primarily the stars and the years are spread out enough to make it fairly easy to guess them. BTW, I, for one, like the pyramid format.

@ktappe: I'm a film buff as well, and while this certainly wasn't easy, it wasn't impossibly difficult. I went through once, skipping about four that I didn't know, then had about a minute and a half to go back and get the others by process of elimination.

I'm frankly surprised how many of these I got right on the first try, particularly when it came to the year.

'Return of the King' was 2003?! What happened to the last nine years...?
