You should probably specify for the two word games that each word has letters cut off because that threw me off a bit.

I agree with NYYanks at first I didn't know what the word was because it looks like you left a blank for a letter. I eventually got it but it would have saved me a lot of time.

Everyon who has hear of the game SHOULD get Pictionary, but there is a classic parlour game called "Dictionary" that also satisfies the clue.

I tried "Go Fish" for "Risk". That totally works too, right?

Think it would have been fun to have 'Uno' - nothing but an 'n' in the clue.

I second Platypus222. Either Fish or Go Fish should be accepted.

For all the Brits who complain about quizzes being too US focused, be aware that I never heard it called "Cluedo" until Sporcle, and whenever that game is on a Sporcle quiz, it's always given double billing ("Clue/Cluedo"). At least that answer is always Brit-friendly.

Never heard of quite a few of these, though I suspect there may be a US/UK difference for a couple of them. Despite that, I managed to get a few of them simply by working out what words would fit that letter combination, so I think for once this is a quiz anyone can have a good stab at, regardless of country.

@Jennyfu: yes, it's the US name. I was disappointed to find that apparently there isn't a classic game called Uranium.

Cranium really seems out of place in a quiz of "classic" games. It was only created in 1998.

Could have sworn the game was called strategy. Doh. If you do enough Sporkle games you soon learn chutes/snakes and ladders and Clue/Cluedo wherever you are from! I even remembered Candy Land! Yeh!

I've only seen Cluedo on Sporcle quizzes, and I'm curious how it's pronounced. Is it Clu-ay-doh or is it Clu-do?

@singin185 it's pronounced Clue-doh. Clue-ay-doh sounds like an interesting combination between Cluedo and Playdoh...

This is totally awesome! I feel like and idiot though because I missed Mouse Trap, of all games. That was one of my favorite games as a young child. Did anyone else find that game to be a childhood classic?

I spent part of my childhood (decades ago) on both sides of the Atlantic. Draughts and Snakes & Ladders is British for Checkers and Chutes & Ladders (respectively), while Clue is American for Cluedo. A popular British game was called Ludo. from the Latin for "I play" (I think it may resemble Bingo), so Cluedo was a natural coinage. The card game (although not the board game) Solitaire is more commonly called Patience in Britain. i i o is the American for ought n rosse .

@shakescene Patience is only one variant of Solitaire. @mrmanheim, guess who is like 20 questions but with faces, and downfall is a 2 player game with discs that have to fall through dials, both were made by the same company.

@Shakescene - actually Ludo is not like bingo. It's the British name for the game Americans call Parcheesi.
