How did ANYBODY manage to even type them all that quickly, let alone think of them! :o

@All I made this quiz an editor pick, but I wanted to see what people felt about the 3-minute time limit. It is still a blitz because that's a lot of typing to get 168 prime numbers typed. So, let me know what you think is the ideal time. (e.g., leave it at 3 minutes, or add/subtract a minute)

I didn't come into this quiz KNOWING all the prime numbers under 1000, but I know the possibilities and am a decent typer—and I made it less than halfway through. Given that, I think you could add an extra minute or two and still make it quite hard to finish.

Quite hard... I know some people may be able to memorize it (not many), but without knowing you can get a fair few as long as you type at a decen pace. Either leave the time limit the same or add a minute.

I find it funny a lot of people made it to ~300 then just decided to try working backwards (997), myself included. Great blitz!

3 minutes is fine. It's not the type of quiz you are really trying to finish, and too much gets a bit boring. Go 379!

Can't believe some people can get 100% in 3 minutes.

I'd really like to know how some people got all of them. Hopefully, this quiz is like the video game in the Last Starfighter and those people are on their way to doing something much more important like saving the galaxy.

Well, I was gonna use Eratosthenes' sieve for this quiz (aka cheat), but then I realized it'd probably take more time to write down all the numbers 1-1000 and cross out even numbers and multiples of 3, 5, 7, etc. than it would to just name the primes.

You know, it's kind of a cool idea, but I found myself losing interest after about 20 numbers. Maybe fewer answers with a shorter time limit would work better.

It becomes repetitive. I stopped thinking and started to punch in every odd numbers.

50/168! Not bad for a bloke from the U.K (or whatever they call themselves)!

I really lost interest. I got about 20, and then I gave up. It's a good idea, and it was good that it got published, but maybe there should be less numbers and a lower time limit.

Wow...looks an awful lot like a quiz I made way back in 2009 (http://www.sporcle.com/games/tom/primenumber_blitz) Wtf?

I got all of the numbers under 200 (I had to memorize them for a math test) and then 971, which I don't even remember typing in. I think it happened when I somehow forgot how to type 197 and 199.

i knew all the ones up to 100, after that it's just guessing odd numbers that end in 1, 3, 7 or 9. All prime numbers past 5 end in 1, 3, 7 or 9. (though obviously some numbers like 33 or 99 are not prime).

Wrote a script to brute force this by simply trying every odd number. I was bored, but not bored enough to actually write a program which would calculate the primes.

Love it how higher numbers get gradually less popular, but suddenly 997 appears in the middle of the 300s. Do people get bored and start going from the top?

Deion Sanders would love this quiz. Get it, his nickname is "Prime Time" and this quiz is about "prime" numbers.
