| 7 cervical, 12 thoracic, 5 lumbar, 5 sacral, 3/4/5 coccygeal...that adds up to 32, 33 or 34, not 26. The sacral bones fuse from separate bones and in some people do not completely fuse and are therefore considered separate bones. The number of coccygeal bones is variable. Either way 26 is most definitely the wrong answer. |
