I don't know about these countries being 'the best places to live'. They aren't necessarily the best places, just the most developed.

I guess "human development" doesn't include human rights. Otherwise Israel definitely wouldn't be on there.

This is a really interesting list. Some really surprising ones on here like Qatar, Kuwait and Barbados. What makes Ireland so much more developed than us in the UK?
