You should accept United States or United States of America, which is after all the proper name for the country.

England and Scotland shouldn't be on the quiz, or UK should be acceptable for both of them.

Maybe the breed can be called an English bulldog. But the animal as an emblem of my country is always referred to as a British bulldog, so that's what it should be in the context of this quiz. It alliterates, it's just the commonly used term, ask ANY British person. Why vote people down for just telling the truth?

why is everyone so upset about a bulldog? as a Scot, I don't consider this an emblem of my country, and the fact that we have our own national animal (which is much better I might add) just verifies the fact that its a representation of england, not GB or the UK.

@alskdjfhg75: Interesting. Still, at least the Scottish education system teaches the difference between "there" and "their".

Never would have guessed the Scotland animal in a million years and I've lived there! A little rugby knowledge helps on this one.

England and Scotland aren't countries, so the title of the quiz should be changed.

While the bulldog is an acceptable symbol for England the lion is the more common representation.
