Good quiz -- nice mix of difficulty levels.

This is one for archaeology lovers, with pictures a little larger than normal (try F11 for full screen). I've tried to be generous with the sites by accepting the modern names too, but if I've missed anything (old or new) your knowledge would be appreciated. Bear in mind I'm looking for the site names, not the people that lived there or the buildings pictured.

@danno: Thanks pleased you enjoyed it. You beat me to the first comment though!

I thought this would be easy when I clicked it, wow! Good collection of pictures, and so much for thinking Angkor Wat and Gila Cliff for Ayutthaya and Mesa Verde

I think Goreme should be acceptable for number 6, as that's the nearest town to the ruins - Cappadocia is the name of the whole area.

@ChileNoseJam: Thanks for that - it accepts Göreme but I fogot to add it without the accent.

Like it! Though I failed to guess two (of the nine) that I've actually been to. I would say the Carthage image is quite obscure, even with the answer coming up I can't recall that. I look forward to a sequel!

The Ephesus image is a little obscure too. Or is it just because I entered the site from the top of the hill rather than the bottom? I'm not sure I would accept Angkor Wat for Ayutthaya. Angkor Wat looks totally different than that. You could maybe accept Bagan/Pagan though.

@sbelkoski: Thanks for the comment although I didn't really understand what it meant. Angkor Wat isn't included on this quiz (either as a picture or an answer). Not sure what you're referring to as Bagan/Pagan...
