Your alternate answer acceptance is generally pretty good, except for #1, where I tried a bunch of things ("Munich" certainly; I think also "1972 olympics", "1972 olympic games", "munich hostages", "israeli athletes"....). Nice quiz though!

@Tahnan: Thanks for your comment. There's a limit to how many alternative answers can be used in a quiz, so I've had to make a call on which keywords would be cut. Can't please everyone of course, but I've added "1972 Olympic/Munich/Israeli" just for you.

Same problem as the 21st century quiz. I literally tried 15 different combinations for Wallis Warfield Simpson and Edward (including the words British, king, abdicate, divorcee, throne, you name it.) Ditto for Pan Am bombing over Lockerbie (plane, Scotland, 103 mid-air). AAAAAAARGH!

This is great, but if I may, perhaps another photo for Cuban Missile Crisis? I kept thinking that had to do with an earthquake by the looks of it, but it really is obscure, especially when you consider how clear the other photos are.

I thought it was pretty clear that picture 3 was the Cuban Missile Crisis - it's certainly the most important 20th century event in that location. A picture of an ICBM could too easily be mistaken, "perestroika" perhaps, or "disarmament". As Lupin says, you can't please everyone.

I first tried "Bay of Pigs Invasion" for 6 and when that didn't work I figured that it was the Cuban Missile Crisis, but is there something in the photo that differentiates that two that I'm not seeing? Just curious.

I had no idea what #5 was supposed to be, as it looks like it could be one of any number of car crashes. A picture of her funeral might be better.

my problem was an inability to spell the word "missile" Otherwise excellent.

I think the Cuban Revolution/ Castro overthrowing government is at least as important as the missile crisis. The second wouldn't have happened without the first. It wasn't that hard to figure out the answer when Castro didn't work though. Good quiz.

I thought "Duke and Duchess of Windsor" would work, but it didn't.

Your alternative accepted answers are very loose for some pictures and not for others. I entered "bomb" for the Pan Am flight and it automatically populated the Hiroshima question. Yet when I entered "Ford," I got nothing. Good quiz but a little inconsistent.

Good quiz, but I could not figure out number 2. I kept trying things like Pearl Harbor and the Gulf of Tonkin. Is there another picture that could more clearly illustrate the Falklands War, or no?

I sense an anglophile or a Brit made this. For Nixon and King all you required were names...but you can't allow any short answers for your king and the Falklands War????? Who knows the ship that they sank in the Falklands War!

kinda bad picture choices, i mean why not choose the mushroom cloud rising over hiroshima for the atomic bombing?
