good quiz. I found number one a little difficult. I entered WWII and it wasn't accepted so I assumed it was something else, as you'd accepted WWI.

Nice quiz. Only one that got me was 9 - couldn't make out what I was looking at!

If you accept Mao Zedong, you should accept Mao.

could you take First World War? that's the first way I ever think of wording it although I may be the only one. otherwise excellent quiz despite the presence of a certain Tory fascist.

I think Tiananmen Square is the most missed b/c most don't know how to spell it, at least, that's why I missed it...

Not gonna lie, I tried a bunch of combinations and then had to google how to spell Tiananmen. That second n killed me.

I tried Chinese Cultural Revolution, Mao, Great Leap Forward, Chinese Communist Revolution, Maoist Revolution... it took me ages to get it. You should accept some of these alternatives. Good quiz though!

joebobs: It accepts-- "Cultural Revolution in China, 1966-1976/Cultural Revolution/Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution/Mao Zedong/Quotations From Chairman Mao Zedong/Little Red Book/Chairman Mao/Mao Tse Tung/Mao/Cultural Revolution/Mao Tse-Tung/Mao". Not happy about "Mao" but it's been requested quite a few times. Am adding "Chinese Cultural Revolution" as well.
Changed: replace F-15 picture with destroyed Iraqi tank/burning oilfields. Hopefully, this will trigger better response for Desert Storm. Thanks for the suggestions! :)

Good quiz! I think you've got a nice spread of events there - can't be accused of being US-centric ;o) Maybe if you accept 'Unknown Rebel' for Tiananmen Square, more people will get it as 1. you won't have the spelling issue and 2. that's who the pic is actually of ... I even tried putting in the date to see if that worked after I'd tried several spellings of TianaNmen :o)

I had to type in John F. Kennedy (including his middle initial)and Rosa Parks to get those. Last names shuld suffice. I tried "depression" for #10 and it would not work.

You have a typo on the moon landing year but nicely done overall. Does anyone know how to fix the problem of the right side on the majority of these picture quizzes being cut off?

If you'd prefer a more vivid photo for #1, then the "Arbeit Macht Frei" arch at Auschwitz's entrance would be suitable then this distant picture of the camp's train tracks.
