| Though it's not your fault (I see you do have this down in the category "movies") I wish Sporcle would not group the films and the books together when you search for "Lord of the Rings" because there are times where if you are a book guy like me, you are going "WTF??" and I imagine the same is true coming from the other direction of those who know the story through Jacksons film adaptation. I was wondering why none of the words that would be used by one of the characters in Tolkein's work were not showing up until I saw the actual quote - this one does not exist AT ALL in the books - usually Jackson had some basis in an event in the book (except for that awful sidetrip into bizarre with Aragorn and his horse wandring around, oh, and the complete rape of the character of Faramir). But this must come from one of those two spots, likely when Farfromthebookamir was doing his exact imitation of his brother's character rather than its diametric opposite, rendering his character redundant and pointless. I only sound so pissy because Faramir is my favorite character in the book... I'm sure he's perfectly legit if you haven't read it so many times and was introduced to him as a semisleaze. |
