The problem with this is only in that what year are you talking about? The penny has changed several times in the last 3 years, and the nickel has changed almost 10 times in the last decade. Only the dime hasn't changed. So, are you looking for the 1998 quarter from 12 years ago before the state quarter and state parks systems began? Also, the US makes half dollars still and it makes non-presidential dollars still too (Sacawegea), and those too have changes several times in the last decade.
Sorry I'm being so picky but coin collecting is my BIG hobby so that's ironically the one thing I know a lot about but have never made anything on Sporcle about. :)
So, one way to do this is to say, what words have been on every single penny, dime, nickel, quarter, half-dollar, or dollar for the last decade or two. That way, you don't have to worry about the special designs that changed and added new things temporarily. You should also say that you're not including mint marks or the initials of the designers that are on each coin. |
