Wasn't Freda a movie-only character? An odd choice, given that this quiz is in the Literature category.

IKEAN is such a beautiful tongue. truly the language of hipster furniture at middle-middle class prices.

I'm a bit surprised that the most obscure character used was Grimbold. I was fully expecting this to be full of one-off characters from the farthest reaches of The Silmarillion.

That was fun. But who's going to play Brunkrissla in the movie?

The takeaway I get from this is that an Erkenbrand line of furniture would apparently be quite popular.

I had fun taking this quiz having never read LOTR and I haven't been to IKEA in 20 years (I feel like my house foundation must be sinking because I have so many home furnishings), so my guesses were all based on word sounds (exception - I have heard of Frodo). I did better than I thought I would (although still not very well). I agree with dlauthor that LOTR would make a great source for the name of new IKEA lines!

I was just at IKEA 3 hours ago. If I couldn't score 85% or higher now, I never will. And I didn't...not even close.

I think it would be very difficult to get all of them right if you had just seen the movies. I'd read the books again recently, but have never set foot in an IKEA. I knew before taking the quiz that Erkenbrand would probably be the most missed.

If you can imagine it in Rob Inglis's voice, it's from Lord of the Rings.

Aw, Erkenbrand is one of my favorite obscure LOTR characters, second only to Halbarad. I'm sad nobody knows him.

Nice idea - I love this sort of quiz, where you think the two things are so different they should be easy to tell apart, then it turns out that the names they use are so similar in "type" that most of the time you have no idea ("Drugs or Pokemon?" is another). I was completely guessing on almost all of these, but it was great fun!

One simply does not walk into IKEA without losing one's sanity. I'd take a year in Mordor over an hour in that pit of hell.

I've been to IKEA a few times, I've seen the first LOTR film, the only answer I didn't guess was Frodo, so I was quite pleased with 15 correct. I'd much rather go back to IKEA than sit through LOTR again

I too have never watched the LOTR movies, haven't looked at an LOTR book in 40 years, and haven't been in an IKEA in 20 years. That I could only get half of the answers goes to show how well this quiz was crafted. Both answers are plausible in almost every case. Well done!

Fun quiz, even though I haven't got round to watching LOTR yet. I have been to IKEA a couple of times though.

Much of the LOTR series is in the vein of Norse myth or Icelandic saga, so Swedish is not a far cry from the basis of many of the names. I got 18 btw.
