It definetly isn't the longest word in the world. Maybe in the english language. In German you can combine any number of nouns to create a new word eg. Donaudampfschifffahrtskapitänsmützenaufnähervertriebsangestelltenrentenbescheid....and that's just from the top of my head in theory I could add as many nouns as I like and I'm sure there are other languages where you can do just the same.
