| @Paul & LeeC: Firstly, Ienissei is the Yenisey which appears here. Secondly, some rivers, such as the Lower Tunguska, Missouri and the Purus, are tributaries of lager rivers but are still long enough themselves to appear on the Longest Rivers list. Some rivers have tributaries that are very long (despite being lower in discharge and hence not the main water course). These extend the length of a river system to the longest point, such as the Ob-Irtysh and the Murray-Darling, so that they appear in the Longest Rivers list, but the individual rivers (e.g. just Ob) would not show. |
