This was a lovely trip down memory lane, it's been years since I've read this to my kids. It might be a little easier if the words were in order but it was still loads of fun.

I loved this book when I was younger, so sad to hear of the author's death. RIP.

Love this book. Also by Sendak, Outside Over There and In the Night Kitchen - beautiful, dreamy children's books.

Strangely I was never aware of this book until I had children of my own, and it quickly became a staple of their bedtime story rotation. RIP, Mr. Sendak, you brought joy to many.

I never read the book when I was a kid. The first time I ever heard about it was the movie.

I would have guessed that I had this memorized a few years ago, but my youngest is now seven, so it's probably been three years since I've read it. And it shows. Just 46/139. Time to break it out again. Let's not forget Sendak's distinct visual style that contributed to sets, costumes, and the book for the Nutcracker ballet.

I was really pleased to see this quiz come up, so kudos for doing it. But a bit disappointed about the decision to put the words in alphabetical order 'for ease'. A lot of these quizzes have the full text in order, which is a lot less hard, and means you end up with the text written out at the end, which is nice.

I'd never seen Sendak until he appeared recently on Colbert - what a delightful curmudgeon, still astute and quick witted. Even at 83, his death seems premature. Sad.

I know I'm gonna get downvoted like a madman, but I think this is such an overrated book. No disrespect meant to Mr. Sendak at all.
