That's a jack russell? I could've sworn it was a wired-hair fox terrier. Oh well. Good quiz.

I was expecting you to be more specific with collie, and want "rough collie", which is what it is really. Please accept golden retriever/golden lab? And I was convinced that Chow Chow was a Pomeranian... I'm probably so far out it's untrue... more breeds/similar quizzes would be good!

Agree about "golden lab" or "yellow lab." Could you also accept "Scottish terrier" as an alternative to "cairn terrier"? I think they are the same thing, although I could be wrong.

A golden retriever is a different breed of dog. The breed in the picture is called a labrador retriever. It's not called a yellow lab anymore than the standard poodle would be called a white poodle.

According to the AKC, Scottish terriers and Cairn terriers are different breeds, although they were grouped under the same breed until the 1900s :) It's been changed to accept yellow lab and rough collie.

Should you accept 'Alsatian' as the British alternative for German Shepherd?

Fun game but a few pointers: 1. That is not in anyway a Greyhound. Can't tell for sure but it's either an Italian Greyhound or a Whippet, but definitely not a Greyhound. 2. Golden lab should not be accepted as it is not a breed nor is there a color "golden" in labradors. It is yellow.

@imclala: No, that wouldn't be right. They aren't at all the same breed. The Scottish Terrier is a completely different dog.
I was baffled when it wouldn't accept "Cardigan Welsh Corgi". Took me awhile just to type in "Corgi".
And, ThatStarGirl, why should "golden retriever" be accepted? They're also a completely different breed.

gonetothedogs is right, there's no way that's a greyhound. I'd bet it's an italian greyhound, though it could be a whippet. Those two look pretty similar to each other (though they still have noticable differences, whippets tend to have deeper chests, and obviously are bigger) but to someone with experience with the breeds, greyhound look very different from their smaller counterparts. Not everyone can see that, of course, so I think you should just allow whippet and italian greyhound to be acceptable answers as well.

It took me under 2 minutes to get all of these, so perhaps 10 is a bit much. And I agree that the greyhound is more likely a whippet, thats what i tried first...
