Oh, and here's something odd: Deng Xiaoping was man of the year twice, and Time switched romanization systems somewhere in the interval. So the man of the year for 1986 was Deng Xaioping (who should, of course, show up under D), but the man of the year for 1979 was Teng Hsiao-p'ing, who should probably show up under T.
