Good quiz, but surely if the last one goes down as 'video game' as well as 'comic', so should butcher bay and arkham asylum?

"The Hobbit" is at least as good an answer for "Dol Guldur" as "Lord of the Rings" -- in fact it's more important to the plot of The Hobbit than Lord of the Rings. You should probably accept it.

not sure about the inclusion of the british tv show prison on here. surely porridge - HM Slade would have been a better inclusion as the whole show is set in a prison, rather than something that appears in 1 maybe 2 episodes of the one included.

this may seem obvious, but the instructions say "can you name the fictional prisons?" ... and all the prison names are given to us.

@beatrixkiddo That was also my initial thought, but the issue is Porridge is set in a REAL prison, and this quiz is looking for FICTIONAL prisons specific to a show or book.

Shutter Island is a book by Dennis Lehane, so it should be Book/Movie

Same is true for Shawshank Prison...it was a book first (Stephen King's Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption).

Can you name the works of fiction in which these prisons appear might be a better title.

I didn't think Dol Guldur was any sort of prison, but rather just Sauron's stronghold in Mirkwood before he returned to Mirkwood.

Thanks Sporcle for publishing my quiz. @jpahk, person1234, amwoods13, and funnjokes: Nice catches. Sorry for the mistakes, I apparently wasn't thinking properly when I contributed this quiz. I cannot change it, but I will email Sporcle. Thanks again.

Seems like "Simpsons" could be accepted without the "the"

singin185 - it is. runnergirl35 - azkaban is there; nuremgard is a little obscure for non-diehard fans.

I'm _very_ surprised Baltimore State Hospital for the Criminally Insane ("Silence of the Lambs") isn't on the list.

Good idea, though the high percentages proportionate to correct answers indicates a need to include more alternate answers for each prison's source materials

Swapping movie/book to book/movie holds true for Green Mile, LOTR and Potter as well. All were books before they were movies. Also I'm suprised nobody has pointed out that Shutter Island is listed as a Bppl instead of a Book.

Looks like someone's fingers were one letter off when they tried to type 'book'.
