Harry Potter Marathon Quiz
Nov 25th, 2009 at 15:33 GMT
You could accept tiara and diary for the horcruxes, also it's known as the philosophers stone in the UK, maybe add in the marauders nicknames? I tried those first for the marauders map creators.
Nov 25th, 2009 at 15:57 GMT
stan shunpike is not the driver of the knight bus, he is the conductor. ernie prang is the correct answer for that question
Nov 25th, 2009 at 15:59 GMT
I agree with both of the above comments! It's a diary - is it "journal" in the US version??
Nov 25th, 2009 at 17:23 GMT
No it is Diary in US version too.
Nov 25th, 2009 at 17:25 GMT
You should shave about 2 minutes off, I finished with 5 minutes left.
Nov 25th, 2009 at 19:08 GMT
I second all comments above.
Nov 26th, 2009 at 00:08 GMT
Accept diary and moony, wormtail, padfoot, and prongs. Also I typed in delacour and nothing came up, fix that. Barty Crouch Jr. and Moody are not being accepted either.
Nov 26th, 2009 at 19:10 GMT
definitely need to accept diary, the marauders' nicknames and philosopher's stone. plus, as has already been mentioned, stan shunpike is the conductor, not the driver!
Nov 27th, 2009 at 12:34 GMT
You need to sort out your alternative answers. In some places I can write 'Black' but in the other I have to write 'Sirius', there's no logic to it.
Nov 28th, 2009 at 17:32 GMT
Its a diary not a journal also stan shun pike is the conducter not the driver.
Nov 28th, 2009 at 19:27 GMT
Also, you should add in 'philosophers stone' since that's what the book is *actually* called.
Dec 1st, 2009 at 23:12 GMT
please be consistent about whether we need to use first names, last names, or both. Also, many answers seemed repetitive (all the marauders except wormtail were in other questions and the houses and founders of hogwarts are the same)
Dec 2nd, 2009 at 19:43 GMT
I don't think Tom Riddle's diary was ever called a "journal". You should also accept the marauder's nicknames. This is a poorly-constructed quiz overall.
Dec 4th, 2009 at 06:37 GMT
I agree with all the suggested fixes, but I think it was a fun quiz overall!! There will never be enough hp sporcle quizzes lol...
Dec 5th, 2009 at 11:40 GMT
I also agree that it was a little awkward with what was and what was not accepted...
Dec 5th, 2009 at 12:14 GMT
DIARY NOT JOURNAL
Comment below threshold:
Dec 5th, 2009 at 21:32 GMT
I totally agree with everybody else, but does no-one else agree with me that NAGINI IS NOT ACTUALLY A HORCRUX --> I always thought that Harry thought that she was but it turns out it was himself! And the last (7th) horcurx was the part of the soul which was already in Lord Voldemort's body!!!???
Dec 7th, 2009 at 23:47 GMT
@oldkent: Nagini was indeed a horcrux. Lord Voldemort originally intended to split his soul into seven, the most powerful magical number, which would have resulted in 6 horcruxes, plus the bit of soul in his body. However, Harry was the ACCIDENTAL 7th horcrux, resulting in 8 soul pieces all together. Also, for this quiz, I agree with the above comments, also, you should accept Crouch or Moody for the DADA teachers.
Dec 13th, 2009 at 16:33 GMT
You need to except diary. It isn't referred to as a journal in the book at all.
Dec 18th, 2009 at 02:49 GMT
lots of work to be done on the actual acceptance of answers in this quiz, I agree with all the above comments. When that is done though, it's not a bad quiz!
Dec 19th, 2009 at 03:10 GMT
for the map you should do padfoot, prongs, wormtail, and moony,
Dec 20th, 2009 at 20:38 GMT
Also, there's a typo in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which makes it impossible to answer correctly.
Dec 24th, 2009 at 00:05 GMT
Ty for all of the input. I'm trying to fix all of the mistakes. I will gladly accept any ideas that would make the quiz better.:)
Dec 26th, 2009 at 23:33 GMT
great quiz i would have answered all of them but i couldn't spell kreacher or beauxbatons
Dec 31st, 2009 at 23:59 GMT
I tried typing Moody, Alastor Moody, Crouch Jr and Barty Crouch Jr before answering correctely Mad Eye Moody .-. Since his name IS Alastor Moody, you could accept it too.
Jan 1st, 2010 at 05:47 GMT
get rid of the apostrophes in Hogwarts and Founders. Are you kidding with that?
Jan 3rd, 2010 at 06:31 GMT
nice quiz. just sayin, hepizabah has a houself hokey, and you don't accept james's nickname prongs good quiz tho
Jan 4th, 2010 at 20:05 GMT
try adding hokey (hepzibah smith's house elf), take out the apostrophes in hogwarts and founders, and it's house-elVes. the quiz gets kind of repetitive (james, remus and sirius are all mentioned in other questions, so do you really need the marauder's map question? try making it their nicknames). also: can you please accept more answers for moody? i tried bartemius crouch jr, barty crouch jr, crouch jr, alastor moody, moody.... overall, it wasn't a great quiz, but it was decent
Jan 9th, 2010 at 03:04 GMT
i would also include Marge for harry's family. Because she is a relative
Jan 23rd, 2010 at 19:42 GMT
definatly needs Hokey. Marge is also a good idea. There are also inconsistensies in the name entries sometimes you can add a nickname and others the full name is needed or only the first name.
Jan 27th, 2010 at 16:36 GMT
how have more people got trevor than neville longbottom
Jan 29th, 2010 at 16:42 GMT
Look at your spellings and the multiple names things have. make sure all names are listed as correct. also maybe accept miss spelled first names, some of them are actually never mentioned in the books
Jan 30th, 2010 at 02:22 GMT
was this REALLY supposed to be fun?
Feb 2nd, 2010 at 14:50 GMT
i couldn't for the life of me remember who harry pretended to be on the knight bus, and for some reason i kept thinking it was helena hufflepuff and not helga. also on the maruaders map question, it doesnt accept prongs, but accepts all the other nicknames. otherwise, good quiz
Feb 6th, 2010 at 02:39 GMT
Good quiz, but you might want to take some time off it, I finished with over six minutes left.
Feb 6th, 2010 at 14:51 GMT
I tried Prongs for the Marauder's Map question, and it wasn't accepted! however, moony, wormtail, and padfoot *were* accepted. please fix this!!
Feb 12th, 2010 at 23:13 GMT
Many flaws, I can't name all, but here's a few: accept Prongs for map creators, accept moody and crouch for dada 4th teacher, wheres Hokey the house elf, house elf has no hyphen, and accept Ginevra for Ginny in weasley children. 2/5.
Feb 12th, 2010 at 23:19 GMT
Also, accept 'Merrythought' as a bonus DADA answer?
Mar 27th, 2010 at 00:37 GMT
How can you accept Moony, Wormtail, and Padfoot, but not Prongs? And just accept Moody, please.
Apr 11th, 2010 at 02:19 GMT
definitely less time. and i think moody or crouch should be acceptable for the DADA teachers
